Ask A Master Gardener
The master gardeners will be joining us every other Saturday to help with your horticultural needs.
Our vendors give back to the community each week. At the end of the market, the vendors have an opportunity to have their stall gleaned by the Society of St. Andrew.
The food is then distributed to local food pantries. We exceeded our goal for 2014 of 1500 lbs! We donated more than 1600 lbs this past season. If you are interested in donating your extra produce please see one of the market representatives.
SNAP is at the Market!
The Forest farmers market is proud to offer the SNAP program. We are working with local agencies to create a program that will enhance the market experience. Please see a market representatives for details.
To date we have done more than $500 in SNAP sales.
The Forest farmers market has worked with the Bedford Community health foundation to support our SNAP Program. With their help we are able to offer additional funds to SNAP recipients. Please see the Market manager for details.
Central Virginia Regional Rescue
Central Virginia Regional Rescue is a volunteer based non-profit dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of regional animals into into permanent and loving homes. Through education and community outreach we aspire to eliminate the need for euthanasia as a means of pet population control.
The mission of the Bedford County Department of Tourism is to market Bedford County and the Town of Bedford as a tourist destination and to promote its vibrant beauty, local businesses, area attractions, activities and history; thereby generating new and repeat visitations and increasing revenues to stimulate economic development and growth for the community.
